Sum of All Thoughts

A Girl Writing (Henriette Brown (1829-1901))
If you were to sum up your day in one sentence what would it be? When I did my initial blog a few years ago I had an entry pertaining to a one sentence journal. I thought it was a good idea, but unfortunately I was never able to keep up with it.

I'd love to get back to doing this again, but I feel the reasons I did this in the past have changed from why I'd like to do this today.

So much can happen in one day. Sometimes it's not about what you did that day, but how that day changed you. Every day is a brand new day. It's the first day of the rest of your life. What happened that made this day different from every other day? Was it something someone said or did? Did you do or say something? Did you have some kind of epiphany?

You don't have to write in your journal things like, "Today I went for a run." But you can if you want to. Instead what about writing something like, "Today I realized the joy and freedom of running in the rain" or, "A simple smile can make all the difference."

Some days the challenge may be coming up with a single sentence, while other days the challenge will be keeping it to a single sentence. The important task is to make it a positive thought; no negative thoughts in your journal. You don't need anything to bring you down.

Sometimes we take our lives for granted. We spend our day going to work, shopping, playing, cleaning, working out etc. and we don't really put any thought into that day. I think it is important to just sit back, think about your day and put it into words. Hopefully that will help you realize that your life truly does matter. This life God gave you is so much important than you could ever imagine.
